Worship Leader: Pastor Rhonda York

Acolytes

Acolytes are children in Kindergarten through 5th grade that light the candles at the beginning of the worship service, and then take the light out of the sanctuary at the end.  The purpose of the group is to have children participate in worship.  There is no regular meeting, but children are expected to be at church on the Sundays they are scheduled.  Adult or youth volunteers assist the child and their parent with scheduling each quarter and connect the child with the ushers at the beginning of the service.

PowerPoint Team

The PowerPoint Team uses PowerPoint technology to lead others within the church by supporting their worship in a visual way.  The team member prepares the scheduled PowerPoint by Thursday of their designated week and gives it to Pastors Dave and Rhonda to review. The team member is then required to run it at both services of their scheduled Sunday.  There is no regular meeting of this group, and anyone is welcome to join at any time.

Sound Technicians

Sound Technicians use the medium of sound technology to lead others within the church by supporting their worship in an audible way.  Sound technicians arrive by 7:45 a.m. to set up the sound system prior to the Worship Team rehearsal at 8:00 a.m.  They work independently, and are required to work at both services on the Sundays they are scheduled.  There is no regular meeting for this group, and it is open to anyone at any time.

Communion Stewards

Communion Stewards provide the Communion elements at both services on the Sunday they are scheduled.  Stewards work independently, and must have the elements prepared prior to the first Sunday worship service.  Communion helps usher the congregation into the presence of God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit through the medium of the bread and juice.  There is no regular meeting of the stewards, and the group is open to anyone at any time.

Children’s Sermons

Children’s Sermons during the worship service is a special time for our children to hear a word from God.  The children come to the front, and the person giving the sermon talks to them for approximately 5 minutes on the theme of the service.  Those who give Children’s Sermons work independently to prepare for their scheduled Sunday; there is no regular meeting for this team.  The group is always open to new speakers.  Schedules are set quarterly.
